After spending most of her life in Massachusetts, Mary realized she was missing out on time with her son and grandson in Vermont. With the passing of her mother and husband, she decided it was time to relocate to be closer to her grandson. Being only a ten-minute drive from them, and having a spectacular view, sold her on Morgan Orchards.
In addition to having her family nearby, she loves the support she’s found here. The entire community has welcomed her with open arms, especially her new neighbors who invited her to join them for dinner her first night in her new apartment.
“Now we’re like a dinner club, always getting together for dinner at the same time and enjoying each other’s company,” Mary shared. “We became friends very easily, and it didn’t take long for this to feel like home.”
But the support she’s experienced has gone beyond dinner time gatherings. After a fall in her apartment, everyone pitched in to help her. Staff provided a wheeled walker for her to use while she was recovering and her neighbors helped her get to appointments. And the supportive culture has even extended into her personal hobby – sewing.
“One of the best things that I like about being here is that I’ve been able to set up my sewing machine in the Craft Room. I didn’t have space in my apartment to leave it set up all the time. So having it just down the hall from my apartment is a dream.”
It’s not just the people that make Morgan Orchards feel like home. It’s the town of Randolph itself. She’s discovering the area, which she describes as very friendly and musical (thanks to the active schedule at the Chandler Music Hall), plus she’s found a church she enjoys attending.
If you’re interested in the community, Mary encourages coming for a tour and comparing the expenses of owning a traditional home to living at Morgan Orchards.
“It’s very affordable,” she says. “With the services that are offered and the food that is served here, you’d be very surprised to find that you really could afford to live here.”
