Session 2 – Positive Physical Approach to Dementia
Tuesday, July 9, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
This second session covers Positive Physical Approach and Hand-under-Hand techniques that help care partners shift from simply dealing with cognitive and ability changes in individuals with dementia to creating a positive and caring environment by taking a step back and approaching care with thoughtful responses.
Session 3 – Understanding the Stages of Dementia
August 13, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
In this last session, Jessica will discuss Teepa Snow’s GEMS model, which teaches the different stages of dementia and how the disease progresses. Attendees will learn the appropriate forms of care for individuals as they progress through each stage to improve interaction and appreciation.
