Comforts of Home
Menig’s two “neighborhoods,” known as the “west” wing and “south” wings, offer a mix of both private and semi-private rooms. But all have been laid out in a way that allows them to feel private. The sizes range from 187 sq. feet for a private room and 375 sq. feet for the semi-private rooms.
Upon move in, every resident has a:
- Bed
- Bedside stand
- Over-the-bed table
- Armoire
- Chair
- TV with cable
- Dedicated telephone
Every room is equipped with wall-fed oxygen lines as well as nursing call bells. Many of our rooms also have built-in hydraulic lifts to help transfer less mobile residents from beds to chairs.
We invite every resident to decorate their rooms with special items from home such as photographs, artwork, and other small decorations. Some additional furniture may be allowed, but we ask family to check with staff before bringing it into the room as to ensure each room remains clutter-free for safe navigation by residents and staff alike.
Restaurant-Quality Dining
Our professional chefs believe that meals that look good, and smell even better, encourage healthy eating. And consuming a delicious meal is an important aspect of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It’s why we use fresh, local foods whenever possible, and have not one, but two kitchens.
Meal preparation begins in our lower kitchen before being transferred to the upper kitchen located in our bright and sunny dining room for finishing and plating. This allows residents to not only see their food being prepared but also smell the enticing aroma. Another great benefit of this upper kitchen is that it enables us to cook alternative diet items for those who need them and handle any individual requests residents may have on the fly.
Meals are served daily at 7 a.m., 12 p.m. and 5 p.m..
