One of the great benefits of living in a retirement community is peace of mind. Here you can put the often overwhelming task of homeownership behind you, freeing you up to enjoy more of the things you love. And while you might be losing a laundry list of chores, you also gain a much greater sense of safety.
Here’s a brief overview of some of the services and amenities our residents enjoy:
Maintenance-Free Living
At Strode Independent Living you aren’t responsible for mowing the lawn, raking leaves, or fixing a leaky pipe. We take care of all of that as our staff provides both indoor and outdoor maintenance.
Should an issue arise within your apartment, we’ll repair and/or replace all of your home systems, such as heating and air conditioning units, kitchen and laundry appliances, and plumbing and electrical systems.
We also provide light housekeeping every week. And we’ve made it easy for you to manage your trash and recycling onsite – saving you the hassle of scheduling curbside pick-up or making a run to the dump.
Accessibility and Safety
Here peace of mind goes beyond the often overwhelming task of maintaining a household and stretches into your personal safety. It means continued independence with an added layer of comfort and safety.
At Strode, your safety begins at the front door, where our welcoming and compassionate staff greet every visitor.
Accessibility
Our building is fully handicapped accessible with elevator access that can get you to and from every corner of every floor. And though limited, we have a number of ADA-compliant apartments so no matter your mobility level you can still call Strode home.
Medical Emergencies
Every one of our units comes pre-installed with an emergency response system that is activated by pull cords in the bathrooms or by wearable pendants. The system rings directly to our front desk, which is staffed 24-hours a day in case of an emergency.
“In my old home, I had a fall and thought to myself ‘a couple of years from now I do not want to be living alone and have this happen again.’ This past year I had some health issues and I fell in my apartment. I was so thankful that the staff and other residents were around to help me.” – Betty E.

For other medical emergencies, our staff is basic first aid and CPR trained and we have an automated external defibrillator (AED) on-site.
Wellness Nurse Program
Your ongoing wellbeing is an important part of life at Morgan Orchards. To ensure that you and your neighbors remain healthy and active, we have a dedicated wellness nurse on staff. This nurse will assess your health prior to moving in and is available to work with you individually after you’ve settled into your new home to address any concerns you might have, whether they’re medical or not. If you’re interested in using one of our two fitness rooms, our wellness nurse can show you how to safely use the equipment to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
